Join fellow Rensselaer alumni at the Albany County Chamber of Commerce’s Breakfast. Hugh Johnson, formerly chief investment officer at First Albany Corporation and presently chairman and chief investment officer at Johnson Illington Advisors, will present his annual "State of the Economy" speech. As always, this presentation will provide us with an interesting and insightful look into the local, regional, and national economy in a way that only Hugh can present it. Historic Rensselaer Capital Campaign Reaches Goal Nine Months Ahead of Schedule |

Rensselaer announced on October 1 that it had surpassed the $1.4 billion Renaissance at Rensselaer capital campaign goal. |
The announcement comes nine months in advance of the campaign’s target end date of June 30, 2009, and just days before the opening of the new Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC), launched under President Shirley Ann Jackson’s ambitious Rensselaer Plan. Robert Schlesinger Named New Head of Institute Advancement |

| Robert Schlesinger, an experienced professional in university development and alumni relations, has joined Rensselaer as vice president for institute advancement. Schlesinger will lead efforts to coordinate, plan, and implement fundraising and relationship-building programs with students, faculty, alumni, parents, friends, corporations, and foundations.
